Scholarships

The following information is available through the Guidance Office:

  • Local Scholarships are those that are sponsored by state and  local organizations, individuals and businesses and are generally awarded to Connecticut residents and EHHS students, or students of other high schools residing in East Hampton.  Applications for these scholarships are sent to the Guidance Office at the end of February.  Please visit Guidance regularly at this time to pick up applications as they become available.

  • East Hampton High School Scholarships are also sponsored by local organizations, individuals and businesses.  Departments within EHHS nominate recipients for some of these awards. During March, seniors will be asked to complete a “General Scholarship Application”.  The faculty will review the information on this form and the recipients of these awards will be determined by faculty vote.  Scholarship decisions are based on a number of factors including academic accomplishments, community service, financial need, and/or a specific major or career field.

  • Local Scholarships and EHHS scholarships are presented at the Senior Awards Night in June.

  • National Scholarships applications are sent to the Guidance office throughout the year.

Seniors have been given a Scholarships & Awards Bulletin that lists the name of each scholarship, a brief description, special qualifications, a due date and an approximate amount of the scholarship.

There are other national scholarships available that can be researched through resources in the Guidance Office, the public library and Internet searches.  In addition, some companies and unions sponsor scholarships.  Parents should also check with their employers.

For specific information regarding the application process, eligibility and submission requirements, please contact the Guidance Office at 365-4031.
